Our Founder

Marsha Murray, CPC - Founder, President of Murray Resources

Established in 1988 as Memorial City Personnel, Murray Resources is a full-service personnel placement and staffing firm in Houston, Texas.

A Certified Personnel Consultant, Marsha is a board member of the Texas Association of Placement Consultants, the past president of the Houston Independent Personnel Consultants, a member of the National Association of Personnel Consultants, a member of the National Association of Personnel Services, and a member of the Houston Area Association of Personnel Consultants.

As founder of a 100% woman-owned business, Marsha has been a devoted advocate of women in business, successfully placing thousands of job candidates in her 30-plus year career. She is a former board member of the Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance, and a member of the National Women’s Business Owners Corporation. In 2007, Murray was recognized as one of eight finalists for the National Association of Woman Business Owners (NAWBO) Houston Chapter Woman Business Owner of the Year for her ability to excel the growth of her business while promoting good community relations and supporting woman-owned businesses and in 2004, the Small Business Administration in Houston named Marsha Women’s Business Advocate of the Year. Marsha was also chosen by the U.S. Small Business Administration to receive the 2004 Women in Business Champion of the Year award.

In addition to her devotion to placing job candidates, Marsha is interested in the growth of West Houston. Marsha is past chairman of the board for the Houston West Chamber of Commerce, where she was a board member for five years. Murray Resources was awarded the Houston West Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Star Award in 2005 for the company’s contributions to the growth and vitality of West Houston.

One of Marsha’s other passions is her commitment to community development. Marsha was co-chair of the 2004 and 2005 Texas Society Campaign as a board member of the March of Dimes. She was a 2003 forum graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Leadership Program and served on its Community Awareness Committee. Marsha is also a past board member of the Variety Club Children’s Charity.

In 2007, the Houston Business Journal named Murray Resources one of Houston’s Fastest Growing Woman-Owned Businesses, and in 2008 our firm was named one of the Best Places to Work.

Murray received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston, after attending the University of Texas for three years.

Placement Consultants

Linda Cooper, CPC - Branch Manager

Originally from Austin, then by way of Providence, Rhode Island, Linda joined Murray Resources in 2003 as a Placement Consultant. She brought with her a wealth of staffing industry experience, an incredible work ethic, and a positive attitude. In November 2005, Linda took on the additional role of Branch Manager. Her passion for the staffing industry and commitment to excellence and quality mirror the Murray Resources’ philosophy. Linda’s priority every day is to make both the candidates and clients happy. In her spare time, Linda enjoys relaxing poolside with friends and family.

Lisa Durham, CPC - Senior Placement Consultant

Lisa started at Murray Resources in 1999 as a Placement Consultant and rose to a management position. She currently is working a flexible schedule as a Senior Placement Consultant while raising a young family. Prior to joining Murray Resources, Lisa worked for an IT staffing firm. She is a graduate of Texas A&M and holds a BBA in Management with an emphasis in Human Resources. Lisa also holds the distinction of Certified Placement Consultant (CPC).

In her leisure time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and three beautiful children, attending Aggie football games, playing softball, and getting together with family and friends.

Kimberly Shelton - Placement Consultant

A native Houstonian, Kimberly returned to her hometown in 2004 after attending Arizona State University. Building on her background in the placement and service industries, Kimberly joined Murray Resources in 2008. In her role as a placement consultant, Kimberly is enjoying the exceptional people she gets to meet and the opportunity to introduce them to interesting job opportunities. In her down time, Kimberly enjoys relaxing with her family.

Christine Ivey - Placement Consultant

Growing up in NW Houston, Christi is truly Texan through and through and proud to be deeply involved in the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. A natural in the staffing industry since 2006, Christi was awarded the HAAPC 2007 Rookie of the Year. She enjoys developing relationships with both her clients and job candidates, and her enthusiasm is contagious. When not spending time with her work family, she enjoys being with her two beautiful children.

Business Development

Carol Copley, CPC - Vice President of Business Development

With an extensive background in the personnel industry, Carol joined Murray Resources in 1999 and has continued to grow in her roles and responsibilities. Working one-on-one with her clients, Carol quickly learns their distinct likes and needs. She brings a personal touch not only to Murray Resources’ clients, but also to the employees she works with. Carol exudes personal commitment and a real passion for the industry.

Terrie Spencer - Account Executive

Terrie grew up in The Woodlands area and earned her degree in Psychology from the University of Houston. Joining Murray Resources in 2009, she has been in the staffing industry since 2006. Having received the 2006 Rookie of the Year for HAAPC and TAPC and placing in the HAAPC and TAPC 2007 Top Ten, Terrie is always looking for the next challenge. She enjoys volunteering her time at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is very involved with her church and various mentoring ministries. With a heart to make a difference, Terrie also shares her time in Career Enrichment Programs, where she speaks to those looking for employment, providing tips on how to interview, dress and build a successful resume.

Operations & Administration

Ericka Hodge - Operations Manager

Joining Murray Resources in June of 2001, Ericka handles a very busy desk in her role as Operations Manager. Conquering every task laid in her path, Ericka oversees the administrative staff while handling all accounting, payroll and human resources functions for Murray Resources. Her can-do attitude, ability to multi-task, and determination to do all things well, makes her a real asset to the Murray Resources team environment.

Away from work, Ericka enjoys spending time with her husband and beautiful daughter, getting together with family and friends, and watching a good movie.

Mandy Kearney - Front Office Coordinator

Mandy is one of the newest additions to the Murray Resources team, joining us in September 2009. As Front Office Coordinator, she helps juggle a multitude of tasks to support our internal team, our clients and our candidates—always with a smile and friendly attitude. Mandy recently earned a degree in business from Texas A&M University, and outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and relaxing at the lake.
