Energy-related losses eat into local job figures

The net loss of 400 jobs from Houston-area payrolls in April wasn’t enough to register, percentage-wise, on the official tally the Texas Workforce Commission keeps each month. But it did signal that the relentless string of energy-related layoffs is taking its toll.
